Marchant, if you really loved "Love Actually" and thought "Notting Hill" was decent, try "Bridget Jones' Diary." It's slightly more geared toward the women in the audience, but I think you'll like it anyway. It's one of my favourites.

And yes, British guys that remind us of Hugh Grant -do- make us melt.

Also, pandas++

Keep in touch. Haven't heard from you in a while.

Later,

Hazel

geeze, i thanked you. i think i have my "friends" and "non-friends" confused though. i'll tell you more about that on aim.

I suppose you could call that coincidental. I know Julie through a variety of coincidences. However, we don't talk very often, and I wasn't aware she'd read your journal. I can't be responsible for everyone at Auburn.

Posted by marchant @ 09/05/2004 06:56 PM CST

okay, so http://www.livejournal.com/users/phoenixjt is the really annoying person. whether or not you know her, i don't care much anymore. it's just VERY VERY VERY coincidental that she goes to auburn, huh?

anyhoo... now that i have her lj, i can block her comments and once again allow annonymous comments. (all the people in the land rejoice)

thanks marchant, for showing your support.

AND seeing dinosaurs every day. Holy craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap.

Did you go to the Museum of Natural History!? DUDE, my DREAM JOB is making those animal dioramas.

What is said in the woods stays in the woods. However, Jordo was (and always will be despite his precient nuptial condition) an honorary member so he is privlieged to info. But not over the 'net ... next time he is in the woods he can have some Algonquin Fire Water and the truth will be full-duplex. Beware.

Posted by Algonquin Special Reserve Light @ 09/04/2004 01:41 AM CST

Jordan, it's in the works. And, you well know that what's said in the woods stays in the woods.

"me again", I felt that our lengthy conversation was on friendly enough terms, but you obviously didn't feel similarly.

And, I didn't think you were accusing me...I was just telling you that we haven't had any communication lately, so I don't know where that comment came from.

You can make that request of my friend, though I've got no idea if it actually was a friend of mine. I suppose it's likely, but my snooping didn't tell me anything other than that they're a Bellsouth user. I apologize if they're insulting you though, and just know I don't approve.

Posted by marchant @ 09/03/2004 02:56 PM CST

So when am I going to hear about this recent backpacking trip you went on. I heard it was a good trip, all except for one drunken night atleast. Waiting to hear about that one and about all that came out from drunken rambling by David and David. How did I miss this trip, damn.

Posted by jordan @ 09/03/2004 02:23 PM CST

i didn't say it was you and i didn't say you visited my journal. i simply asked you to do something out of courtesy because my friends don't bother you.

of course we're not friends and i don't mean it in a vicious way. how often did we fight? too often. how often did i get annoyed with you? too often.

by not talking to you, i'm not annoyed with you, i have fond memories only, and you don't have to put up with me either.

you're the king of snooping around people's ip addresses in g-books, etc. all i ask is that your friend not insult me for no reason at all.

go and read what he/she said. if the same thing happened to you, you'd be bothered. i'm not insulted by the comment, just the fact that there is no reason or instigation at all for it.

Posted by me again @ 09/03/2004 01:25 PM CST

I don't know who that is.

I haven't visited your journal in the months spanning the time since we had a good conversation and then you publically declared that we weren't friends in the least.

Posted by marchant @ 09/03/2004 03:11 AM CST

marchant,

my moronic friends leave you alone. could you please do me the favor of speaking to whomever's ip address is 68.221.218.88 and tell him/her not to be such a loser?

perhaps even "find something better to do than try to insult cassandra by saying that she sounds like a 7th grader."

at the very least, buy your friend a new sense of humor. you know, a funny one. it would be much appreciated. thanks.

Pfft. I don't care for excuses indeed. An update that went "Huh. Cats are nice. Huh." would've been good. :)

Posted by Jialin @ 08/26/2004 12:37 AM CST

I know that you likely don't care for excuses, but I will say that I'm feeling quite guilty over the lack of updates. The next entry is going to be quite large.

Posted by marchant @ 08/25/2004 10:49 PM CST

Cats are indeed better. Our mamma cat gave birth to six kittens a week ago. Now, we have a total of ten cats at my house.

Posted by Jeremy @ 08/24/2004 11:19 AM CST

I love cats and dogs both, but I'm a dog person at heart. You just can't replace those Bambi eyes. :)

Posted by Jialin @ 08/24/2004 03:16 AM CST

Well, I generally try not to offend dog people, but seriously...cats are way better.

Posted by marchant @ 08/23/2004 01:35 PM CST

I never knew you prefered cats. I like dogs, and the loopy ones with perpetually muddy paws are the best. :)

Posted by Jialin @ 08/23/2004 04:51 AM CST

I prefer cats. They're generally less dependent, smelly, dirty, hyperactive, and clumsy.

Posted by marchant @ 08/23/2004 02:13 AM CST

You don't usually like dogs?!

Posted by Jialin @ 08/22/2004 09:15 AM CST

Okay...I don't normally like dogs...but that is pretty cute.

You obviously haven't seen the panda dog...

I have had dreams in the past about being with a cool girl that I didn't know before. It always sucks, though, when the alarm clock goes off and ruins it all.

It's always weird dreaming about a girl that I know and then seeing her the next day. I naturally act a little bit differently toward her because of what I dreamt about the night before.

In high school, I had a dream about me being with JG from our class. It wasn't a dirty dream, but there were some...moments. :) It was weird seeing her the next day in the hallways and in class. I never really talked to her while in high school, but my perspective changed for the day.

I used to wonder if someone would dream about me the same night that I dreamt about them. That would be kind of cool, but I'm guessing that it just doesn't happen that way. Just a thought.

Posted by Jeremy @ 08/16/2004 09:06 PM CST

Well, I mostly dream of people that I know, but there are those rare, frustrating instances where I invent amiable personalities and faces.

Posted by marchant @ 08/16/2004 08:00 PM CST

Meh, dream girls and dream boys will always remain such... When I dream of boys, almost all of them are, inexplicably, people I knew in the past - which is really pretty horrible. To an extent I'm glad dreams will remain dreams. Heh.

Am looking forward to reading your NCY adventure. :)

Posted by alanis @ 08/16/2004 12:31 AM CST

Sorry for the delay. For some reason, I decided to visit NYC for a few days and then hole up in the woods of northeast Georgia for a while. It was quite fun, and I'll likely describe it in detail in the forthcoming entry.

As for dreams, specifically nightmares...I'm not sure that I've had a cohesive one in quite some time. I usually awake with an uneasy but fleeting feeling.

And that specific "nightmare"...I guess I prayed. Repentance and thanksgiving mostly. I really was at peace.

As for warm sleep, I love going to sleep in the sun, but I hate how I wake up drenched in sweat.

Last night, I dreamt of a large variety of worms, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, werewolves, and fireworks. It was a bit of an odd mish-mash.

The night before, I dreamt of my dream girl. I've had dreams like it before, and they always depress me a bit. I meet this person that I really get along with and want to get to know...and then it turns out, they're merely fictional. I think it's related to that feeling of knowing characters from books.

Posted by marchant @ 08/14/2004 08:51 PM CST

Last night I dreamt that Nils Bohr was denounced as "the Whore of Europe."

Posted by Marit @ 08/09/2004 02:37 PM CST

You ain't gonna believe this, but last night I dreamt I was being chased by a psychotic Nazi who wanted to chop me to bits, and I ended up chopping him to bits. Somewhat coincidental? Heh.

Must have been odd indeed to wake after preparing for death. Do you remember any specific things you thought? I would probably be ecstatic with thoughts like "At long last! I get to see what's on the other side...!"

I usually wake from nightmares very warm, and with stiff shoulders. Nobody else seems to experience this. It's like instead of twisting and turning, as one does, I become unnaturally motionless and start heating up like an oven.

Anyway, yes, dream journals are fun. You'll find, however, that most days you really won't feel like hulling yourself out of bed to scribble down something that may or may not make sense the next day.

Posted by alanis @ 08/09/2004 12:36 AM CST

No problem. And, I'll tell ya...one of the absolute weirdest dreams that I ever had occurred a number of years ago. In the dream, I was beheaded.

I think I was in a kitchen of all places, and I knew I was about to get my head chopped off. I had to reconcile the fact that I was about to die and make peace with God and the world. Then, the axe came, my head was off, and I was still thinking and seeing...but had a feeling of being unable to breathe. I don't remember if I woke up a number of seconds later or if the dream just rebooted.

Anyway, I guess my point is that it's a really odd feeling to wake up having been prepared to die.

I wonder if I should keep a dream journal or something.

Thanks for dooting my g-map, Marchant. (But, compelling my butt!)

Nightmares are the coolest things. Apparently, nobody can be killed in their own dreams. It can be "almost, but not quite" or it can be that you're dead to begin with, and are floating around as a ghost. Don't ask where I got that tidbit from. =)

Posted by alanis @ 08/08/2004 05:37 AM CST

ah fellow salamanca alumnus (if that's the correct word...). the clubs most certainly were a-hoppin'. i now have to learn to american-dance again. seeing as the whole hump-the-air move is so much tougher than the move-only-your-hips spanish thing...anyway. i'm sure i don't have to tell you this. although i just did. ahem. /end rambling

I'm glad you've had fun, and I'm looking forward to seeing you too. Just hope that I don't get urgently called in to work.
