For the uninitiated.

Now that I've driven all my readers off ("no one reads your journal anymore"), it's my own private thing again! Woo. Yeah, anway...I know I'm breaking with form, but you guys know how beautiful she is...don't need to keep pushing that out there. =)

Still Sick
Hm...where'd I leave off? Let's see...oh yeah, I was sick. And, I'm still sick. Little ridiculous after a month, isn't it? My nose kept stopping up, so after I took all my easy-breezy finals I went home and stopped by a medical clinic. They prescribed me this pill that really cleared it up (for 12 hours at a time) though it kept coming back for a week or two.

Home For The Holidays
I mostly sat around during the first part of the break. I got to see some of the guys though. Jordan was in the hospital for a night, so several of us went to visit him. We kept talking about "busting him out" to go partying while his parents were gone, but instead amused ourselves making faces at a security camera (channel some number in all the rooms). After that, we went to Greyfriar's (a coffee shop). I hadn't been at night in quite a while. It's kind of the "trendy-CCS-Covenant-hippy" coffee shop, so usually most of my friends avoid it. Always manage to see a few people that I know. DavidW shared with us the story of the new girl in his life...they're not going out...she's just "really cool." Even if they're not, his active-avoidance idea seems to have crashed and burned.

A night or two after Jordan got out, I went over to his place and got some Risk in with him, his dad, and Glenn. I did decently. Got stuck in damn South America originally, but managed to bust down into Australia and hold it briefly. Eventually though, it came down where I wasn't going to win, but I was able to decide the game. Next best thing to winning in my book. His dad won. Aren't Risk stories entertaining? Yeah, that's what I thought...moving on...

I spent Christmas with my family at home. Most of the day we sat around quite socially playing games. I think we played Phase 10, dominoes, and Boggle. It was good getting to visit...haven't had much time to this past semester. For Christmas, I got a pretty good haul - some movies and some games that I figured would occupy my time pretty well in between classes (already beat Zelda on the plane trips though).

A day or so later, we headed down to our cousins'. Pretty similar to Thanksgiving in form, though my dad wasn't able to make it. My brother, sister, and two cousins drove up to Atlanta the next day to meet him and head to Tampa (Busch Gardens). Meanwhile, I visited a little bit with Malcolm and McKenzie. Oh, other thing of note...when I got to their place the first night, there was the cutest little kitten outside. It was really friendly and didn't have a collar. We spent the night and next day trying to find it a home. Almost came down to me taking it to Arizona or bringing it to Auburn (and thus violating my lease). Probably for the best, they found someone that would take it. I feel bad though...it was the nicest cat ever. T'was friendly but not hyperactive.

I drove to Auburn for one evening to unload and pack. Then, the next morning, I headed to Birmingham to catch my flight. Didn't really have too much trouble. Though, I actually got stopped by security for the first time. My belt buckle set off the metal detector...which is strange, cause it never has before. Also, they asked if I had a corkscrew in my bag. I said I didn't, then they rummaged through, found my doc kit, and pulled out a swiss army knife. I had totally forgotten that was in there. I'd brought it along on my first two trips to Arizona and they hadn't stopped me. So yeah, weird how Birmingham, Alabama seems to have better airport security than Atlanta or Phoenix.

I realize you guys must hate these partial updates, but I really should work on some homework and get some sleep...the story of the trip and the beginning of the semester will be up as soon as possible. To sum up briefly, the trip went really well.

Marchant, are you still alive? What's that? Yes, Auburn did win the Capital One Bowl. What's that? No, the Braves lost again in the playoffs this year. What's that? Huh? I don't understand. Huh? Just write it in your journal.
