The Chronicles Rain In Arizona

Aww...isn't she cute? Rain in Arizona! Who would've thought? =D

You guys didn't think I'd go and leave without an update, did you? hehe. I'll probably also give a remote update at some point while I'm out there. That is...if I can rip myself away from bliss for a few minutes. =)

I'm doing this update a bit backwards...since I think it's going to be bit similar to the last entry, I used that as a bit of a template and updated as needed. Therefore, it might have a bit of a weird flow.

The Girl Part
Sands had a busy week with band camp. I didn't get to talk to her as much as I would've liked, but we still managed to squeeze in a couple hours of talking almost every day.

I'm the luckiest guy in the world to have found the most wonderful girl in the world.

I keep coming across stuff that I want to give her or show her. She's going to be so spoiled in a few days. But, I probably will be too. =)

More Days/Daze
It's still hard to remember my days when most of them have been filled with an extremely screwed up sleeping schedule. Most continue to be some combination of sleep, food, tv, movies, friends, family, occasionally going out, and Sandy. Actually, most of the past 5 weeks have been a blur of happiness. =)

My brother has been gone the past two weeks...which kind of sucks cause I enjoy hanging out with him when I'm home. I suppose he'll be at Auburn in a year though.

Most of the guys came up to go swimming or just hang out this week. Saw a few movies..."Hart's War" which was excellent (great acting and setting)..."Goldmember" which was better than expected (the shadow scene almost made me fall out of my seat, laughing)...and "Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade" which is a classic. I really wanted to watch "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" after watching the recent "South Park" spoof, but they were out at Blockbuster.

This evening, me and several of the guys are headed down to Atlanta for a Braves game. It'll be Kevin and DavidA's first major league game, I believe. So, that should be a lot of fun.

The Image Part
Last week, I went on an image binge, and this week was similar. I scanned lots more pictures. In that directory, you'll find a baby picture of me and my brother (he's the little blond, curly-haired, chubby kid), one of him trying to model for a boy band, one of my room, and some pictures of our property. Oh, and here are some new "before" and "after" haircut pictures:

Well, summer's almost over, so this comic seemed appropriate:

One more old comic that I stumbled across the other day was "5 Reasons Not To Blow On Your Kitty's Tummy" from a series called "Lenore". Be aware, it's a tad morbid. hehe.

The DDR Part
Awesome news on the DDR front lately. Auburn got a new machine! Also, the route on the way to Atlanta got a new machine! Maybe I can convince the guys to leave for Atlanta early and make a quick stop tonight. Finally, there are some brand new machines out in Arizona! So, basically...I should either be dead or extremely fit by the end of this month.

The Girl Part (Part Two) & Responses
Most of my time lately has continued to be occupied by anticipating my trip to Arizona in one day...thirteen hours, ten minutes. *grin*

There's all sorts of cool stuff planned. Think we'll probably go by a party soon after I get there. All her friends want to meet me. In fact, one of them already thinks that I'm really cool because I like the Braves. I've really got to make sure that I do better with names than usual. I wonder if her friends have gotten as sick of hearing about me as my friends probably have of hearing about her. =)

Then, we'll probably go mini-golfing. Woo for the best first date ever. It's so nice not to have to worry about impressions near as much as I used to. Some people talked about how it's going to be weird or different or whatever. However, Sandy has given us a 30 second window after I get off the plan to get over any awkwardness. I think it's a good plan. After putt-putt, we'll probably go rent "Kate & Leopold". Woo for sappy, romantic comedies. Do you know how long I've looked forward to a night like Saturday? Oh, and we promised Kev "no kissing" on the first day. hehe.

The rest of the trip ought to be interesting. We're going to church with Rick on Sunday. Apparently, he attends one of those Christian denominations where all the other denominations are going to hell...so that ought to be interesting. Not quite the tolerant, open church I was hoping to expose Sandy to. =)

After that, we'll probably just hang around. Won't have any big plans until the next weekend when her family and I will go visit Tombstone and some caverns which are apparently pretty nice. Oh yeah, and her dad is taking me to a Dbacks-Braves game one of the nights when Sandy is at band camp. So, that ought to be interesting also. I'm pretty nervous about it. I mean, is he the kind of guy that you can have a friendly rivalry with and respects openness, courage, and loyalty to a team (i.e. I can cheer for the Braves) or should I mostly stay quiet? hehe.

Well, last update before my trip...I think I'm going to burst. I'll try to keep you guys informed in about a week or so.

Oh, and quick shout outs to Mel, Dixon, and all my other southeast-side bruthas and sistahs dat be representin'.

"I'm the luckiest guy in the world to have found the most wonderful girl in the world."

Thanks for telling me about the site, Marchant. This is really cool. Best wishes to you and Sandy. She seems to be a great girl.

Update!, Update!, and stop the drug-induced rants. We all know you get back soon (Wed?).

Okay okay... I repent. The anteater wins. Speaking of anteaters... I forgot about this earlier... March and I looked around the zoo gift shop for a stuffed anteater for you Marit. Alas, they didn't have any. It was an outrage.

Oh, and marit.org is back up. Sort of. TEN TIMES UGLIER, TOO!

Posted by Marit @ 08/13/2002 08:27 PM CST

Putt-putt cannot compete with the glory of the anteater. Repent! Repent!

Posted by Marit @ 08/13/2002 08:25 PM CST

But putt-putt was fun too.

PS: The zoo is the best place for a date, hands down. To hell with the putt-putt theory!

ANTEATERS!!!!!!!!

I hope you hugged them and gave them biscotti. They're particularly fond of it.

ANTEATERS ARE WISE
AND BEAUTIFUL
AND COURAGEOUS
WITH LEMON-FRESH CLEANSING POWER

Sands wrote up an update on her journal, so that should tide you over until I find some free time.

Posted by Marchant @ 08/07/2002 03:07 PM CST

I'm addicted to chapstick... chapstick makes for 'happy lips'... so do some other things though. I told March to update... maybe he'll do it tomorrow/today. I'm not sure what day it is anymore... hm... 1:48am Wednesday, August 7th, 2002. There we go! :o)

Anyhoo... I hope his update is a shorter and more 'reader friendly' version of mine. I think I turned a three day adventure into a three week read. I should get some sleep.

So Saturday I drove lover boy to the airport while serenading him with "Might as well face it you're addicted to ... chapstick." Well, at least he will be. I got an update from him yesterday and he reports a definate non-El Scorcho encounter so far. If you understand that last sentence (i.e. caught the allusion) then kudos on your good tast in music. I thought I'd give an update since our protaganist is apparently busy with more important things....

Woo! Fun times in Arizona. :o)

I should have tagged along as a chaperone, you crazy kids.

Dixon, shopping in New Hampshire is great -- every day is sales tax free day.

Posted by Marit @ 08/02/2002 11:45 AM CST

dude, you promised me that there'd be no kissin on the first trip! not the first day. You sickie! Also I have been to a braves game before, I just had forgotten, and I've seen the Padre's play before when we went to California. One last note, if you want people to keep reading your journal, I would do more pictures of Sandy and a lot less of you, that haircut is just scary dude. See you tonight.
