Spectacular and my cheesy attempt to be next to her.

Blah blah blah. I know...I'm a couple of days late again. I kept meaning to sit down and write it for days, and it just didn't happen.

The Girl Part
Sandy and I just hit a month yesterday. I sent her some flowers and a whole bunch of country lyrics (I'm a sap for them lately). I think it marks my longest relationship since junior high. I feel differently about her than any other girl I've met though.

She's even infiltrated my dreams. The other night I imagined sitting next to her with her head on my shoulder. Last evening, I had a dream where a girl I used to like came on to me. I told her that I was taken. When I woke up, I told DavidW about it. Except then, the phone in the real world rang and I woke up again. Ever have a dream within a dream? They're strange. =)

This past weekend Sandy went out of town, and I only got to talk to her for a couple of minutes each day. I really missed her a lot. Then we spoiled ourselves by talking almost 10 hours over two days. She's got a busy week coming up though...and I'm already missing her.

Days/Daze
It's hard to remember my days when most of them have been filled with a really screwed up sleeping schedule. Most are some combination of sleep, food, tv, movies, friends, family, occasionally going out, and Sandy.

At some point last week, Sarah (my sister) and I went to go see "Scooby Doo". It was much better than I expected. They lengthened it to a full movie effectively. As everyone else has said, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy was excellent. Scooby was pretty good too. The other actors did fine also...certainly not as bad as they looked in the previews. It made a lot of money, so I'm sure there will probably be another one. Oh, and the Scrappy cameo was hilarious.

After that, we went bowling with Ray (my brother) and his girlfriend. Neither Sarah or Julie really wanted to bowl, so we just played two games. Ray barely beat me the first. They were both slightly better than average scores as I recall. Then, we headed over to play mini-golf. I was distracted talking to Sandy on the phone...so I didn't do too well, but I enjoyed it.

Zach, Jeremy, and Wes came up one evening and we played some new Bond and Perfect Dark. Also watched Adult Swim on Cartoon Network with several friends over the past week. Oh, Jordan got back in town this week. He and the Davids came up the other night. I actually went swimming for the first time in...well...a long time. I even dove off the diving board a few times. The first one, I tried to dive and landed on my shoulders. That hurt a bit. Then, I just did a normal dive. The third one, I tried to do a flip (going in with my feet). Well, I didn't quite get enough rotation. I landed straight on my back. It hurt like hell. I really thought I was going to drown from the pain for a second. The guys just laughed at the giant red mark on my back. It was funny now that I look back on it.

Oh, and I wasn't completely useless! I scanned lots of pictures and rediscovered some movies. David and I made "Put Litter In Its Place" for a film festival and I helped edit "Alcoholism" for the same event. They're large files, so be forewarned. I'm sure most of you have seen them already, but I thought I'd link to them anyway. Here are some highlights from the face series:

Oh, and I really liked this comic (it reminds me of how I feel about Sandy):

The Girl Part (Part Two) & Responses
Not much else has been going on. Most of my time lately has been occupied anticipating my trip to Arizona in ten days...fifteen hours, fifty minutes. *grin*

Thanks for all of the comments lately, guys. I think I'm getting spoiled. Oh, and I really liked what a wise sage said last week: "If you find someone who wants to hug you, hug them every chance you get." That's a great quote. I also want to reemphasize that I don't think kissing is the most important thing in a relationship. The most important things are communication and connection. Seriously though, folks...if you could please list out the couple you know that have gone out for over a month and haven't touched. I value the general advice to take things slow...and I think we're taking that to heart.

Only one more update before my trip...I think I'm going to pop from anticipation.

Oh, my weekly Onion horoscope:
Virgo: (Aug. 23—Sept. 22)
Actually, your form of love is a crime, but, due to a loophole, you're not guilty.

"If you find someone who wants to hug you, hug them every chance you get."

you're leaving in two days... you can't leave people with this... you have to update.

March asked about relationships where for the first month they didn't touch each other. I know of several relationships where the touching was limited to hand holding and nothing more. Growing up in the ultra-right-wing-conservative Evangelical church that I did (95 percent of the kids were homeschooled in that church), most of the relationships never got past hand holding until after the wedding. If anything else happened it was a "sin" and you were either split apart by parents or forced to get married. I saw at least one arranged marriage (parents set their kids up, cause they were "right for eachother").

ahhh yes.. the good ole days.

I am happy for ya -- a little jealous as well. :) Looks like this is the beginning of something long term. If you guys ever travel up to Oregon, stop by. :)

DDR... I'll never understand that part of you March... well, maybe not 'never'... but it might take a while... I enjoy all the '...'-ing that I've been doing today... it's fun... and saves me from the trouble of writing an actual sentence.

I really don't have anything worth saying... 3 more days! I'm so excited! Why would anyone want to come to Arizona?! That's looney. But it makes me feel special.

Marchant, the DDR machine in Auburn is awesome. I've been the last two days to play it. I'm getting pretty good, however not on par w/ Maniac Drop Out ;-).

MARCHANT WANTS MORE POSTS, SO I WILL SHARE THE FUNNIEST JOKE IN THE WHOLE WORLD

An anteater walks into a bar. The bartender asks him what he'd like to drink. "Okay," says the bartender, "How about a beer?" The anteater replies, "Noooooooo." "How about a gin and tonic?" "Noooooooo." "A martini?" "Noooooooooo." "Look buddy, if you don't mind me asking, why the long no's?"

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

OH MAN
THAT'S A KILLER

I LOVE ANTEATERS

Oh yeah, and I can see now why people have compared you to Vash.

I'm back! and I made the trip in half an hour! It would've been faster if I hadn't stopped to talk to a dozen people. I saw Shawn again! Fun times.

I just realized something... there aren't many decent pictures of me. And that is not one of them.

Dang, I'd love to write more... but I'm on my "have to be at school in half an hour" time crunch. I'm really pushing it... maybe I'll drive over there in my pajamas... that'll buy me at least ten minutes.

march,

i love ya man, but i have a few things that might be pushy of me. how often do you get to say 'i love my 1's and 0's'? eh, don't understand? it's just computer language. that's all you seem to do besides the phone. i am not saying that is bad, but i don't really consider dating to be talking on the phone and online -- that's just me. i believe you should be in touch with the person on a daily basis, see them daily, and hold them daily. i think it is vital that there is the human touch there, because there's something that happens when you see each other... phermones (sp?). yea, it happened to me, i was in your situation. i was "dating" someone a month before we even met, yea, it was pathetic and lame. when we met, there was all this pent up crap and it was like... what the hell? we got all emotional and thought we truly loved each other for the thoughts, but once you start living with someone it's a different aspect. but, im not criticizing your relationship at all. infact, i did it, and i think it happens. i am pleased that you finally have met someone that makes you happy. it's hard to find those.... especially women. :P not like i would know, but i should. anywho, i just want to warn you, because true friends should tell someone the truth, and that just hurts me to see you in a position i was in. i miss ya man, have a safe rest of the summer. john
